Through August and September we have been spending a lot of time getting our loft conversion “The way we want it”, so, somewhat belatedly, here are our thoughts on the finished product.

Carola and I would like to extend our genuine thanks to you, Angel and the rest of the crew, and everyone else involved in the project for all of their efforts in producing what we feel is an excellent product, finished to the highest standards. To say that we are extremely pleased with our loft conversion would be an understatement.

Dear Stacy,

I just had to write and tell you how delighted I am with my beautiful new loft bedroom and bathroom.

I was a bit apprehensive at first having to live here while the work was going on but I needn’t of worried. You and your team turned out to be ‘the builders from heaven’. You made us feel confident and relaxed right from the start. You were always on time, things always happened or arrived when you said they would and the standard of craftsmanship was just superb.

Most of all nothing was too much trouble – even when we changed our minds or when I decided I needed an air conditioner, which meant taking off slates that had been finished!

Thank you so much, it has made such a difference to the flat – it feels so much more spacious and I am really enjoying it.

We contacted More Than Lofts to completely refurbish the second floor of our house following re-roofing. The work involved the erection of new stud walls and the replacement of all ceilings and lights as well as general plastering and the installation of a new shower room with associated plumbing and electrical work. Much work was required to ‘true up’ the line of the old walls and ceilings and the job involved picking up, on the inside, where roofers had left off, on the outside.

Stacy Owens managed the work with impressive attention to detail and a wide variety of tasks were ably and efficiently completed by a sequence of different trades in swift succession. Stacy outlined the costs anticipated at the outset and stuck to those figures except where we altered the brief. He remained cheerful and unflappable throughout and was a pleasure to deal with; the finished work was of an excellent standard and we have no hesitation in recommending More Than Lofts as honest, friendly and efficient builders.

I am pleased to confirm that Stacy Owens and his team completed the loft conversion at my team earlier than expected and also saved me money.

The property is in a cul-de-sac, and created the usual difficulties in respect of access for the crane, scaffolding and delivery of materials. Stacy organised this with great precision and with as little inconvenience to the neighbours as possible.

The actual renovation and build itself was carried out with skill, consideration and speed. As and when there was a problem (very few) Stacy always discussed this and usually came up with a solution, which in the end, proved to be better than the original plan!

He also respected my ideas and need for the reuse of my eco-friendly sheep’s insulation plus, my request that every available nook and cranny be made into storage areas! I ended up with a beautiful two bedroom, one bathroom extension that is the envy of all.

Stacy also built wardrobes and sorted out all of the flooring.

All in all, a job well done.

We had our loft converted by Stacy and his team during the summer of 2007, and have been very impressed by the quality of the work and level of service we received during the build.

The finish on every aspect of the conversion has been outstanding. This is primarily due to Stacy’s attention to detail and his desire to do the best job possible. This is also something that is instilled within every team member.

As a project manager, Stacy has excellent problem solving abilities and would always come up with practical, realistic solutions when faced with challenges. He kept us informed of progress throughout the build and was always ‘on call’ 24 hours a day, seven days a week to answer our many questions.

Stacy’s team were always polite, friendly and cleared up after themselves. In particular they were always very sensitive to the fact that we had a toddler and would, when asked, schedule noisy work around her routine. In fact, our daughter loved having the team to wave to on a daily basis!

We are writing to tell you how pleased we are with the loft conversion and re-modelling of our family bathroom.

From the very start we were impressed with the attention to detail provided for the quotation, which highlighted some points which had not been mentioned / explained by some of the other major loft extension company’s. This would have resulted in some extensive extras shortly after work had commenced.

Once on site the team worked both quickly and professionally, and with young children it was refreshing to have very polite and courteous workers who were both friendly and extremely conscious about tidiness both for us and for our neighbours. The work was completed within the stated time-scale, and the build quality was too a very high standard.

We waited a couple of weeks before having our family bathroom re-modelled, as this was additional to the original contract. It was worth the wait and we are very happy with the results. Having the ability to provide sanitary ware as well as fitting proved to be extremely beneficial.

Referance letter for More Than Lofts – Loft conversion to 1930’s Blay (EOT)

In June of 2008 my wife and I recognised that we needed to extend our 3-bedroom house to accommodate our second daughter and the overseas visitors that that would bring. Our 3-bedroom end of terrace house provided a logical extension for a loft conversion with a rear dormer under building regulations and then applying for retrospective planning permission by staying within the 40m3 limit.

My wife and I recognised that not only would we have to look towards the quality and price of the contractor, but that we would also have to pay close attention to the actual building practices on a day-to-day basis of the onsite team. This would be a very sensitive area as my wife, who would be in the latter stages of pregnancy and having to control a 15 month old during the building work, would bear the brunt of the disturbance.

I am delighted to say that the onsite team delivered not only quality workmanship but were also considerate and friendly to my wife and neighbours. So much so that my 15-month daughter used to ask for Ben, Lee and Ian by name every time they came down to make a cup of tea. Henry the vacuum cleaner became the highlight of the day as the team cleaned up before heading home.

The critical success factor for the project was the timescales for delivery. My wife and I had left things a bit late but Stacy arranged things so that we could have a team onsite in late July and completed by mid-September. This was crucial with the arrival of our second daughter at the end September. The team achieved this and we were delighted that we had a week to settle in before the arrival of Nikita.
